Best Soba Restaurant Visit- 蕎麦屋名店訪問

On a weekday afternoon in mid-November, we drove to the highly rated restaurant SHIMESOBAYA Banshu Yoshidaya for lunch. It was a little after 1pm when we arrived. There was no one waiting outside, so I opened the door, went inside and bought a meal ticket from the ticket vending machine, and luckily I was shown to a table right away. Here I would like to introduce the restaurant’s dishes and my impressions.

11月半ばの平日の昼、私たちは評価が高いこのお店「〆そば屋 播州吉田屋」へ二人でランチに車で行きました。到着したのは昼の13時を少し過ぎていた時間でした。外で待っていた人はいなく、戸を開けて中に入り券売機で食券を買うと、運よく直ぐにテーブルに案内されました。
ここにレストランのお料理と感想を紹介させていただきます。

SHIMESOBAYA Banshu Yoshidaya – 〆そば屋 播州吉田屋

Dishes we odered – 私たちが頼んだ料理

We entered the restaurant and looked at the menu in front of the ticket machine. The menu included followings:
(1) Kamonanban: Noodles in warm soup made from stewed duck meat, with ingredients such as simmered duck meat and green onions;
(2) Tsukekamo: Cold noodles served with warm dipping sauce made from duck meat, with ingredients such as duck meat and green onions;
(3) Kamozaru: Cold noodles served with cold dipping sauce made from duck meat, with ingredients of duck meat;
(4) Masala curry: Noodles in a curry soup made with 24 types of spices. Comes with rice to add after eating the noodles.
There were additional rice and extra ingredients in the menu.

There were three types of noodles to choose from: soba, udon, and Chinese noodles. There was also the option of an assortment of two types of noodles or an assortment of three types of noodles. Furthermore, there were options for the amount of noodles: regular, medium, large, and extra large.
These combinations were displayed on a table, and numbers were assigned to various combinations of options, and the ticket vending machines had buttons with those numbers lined up.

Meanwhile, I bought a meal ticket for “Kamozaru” and “double the duck meat”, and my partner bought a meal ticket for the most recommended “Tsukekamo, 2 types of assortment (soba and Chinese noodles)”.

お店に入って券売機の前のメニューを見た。メニューは、鴨南蛮、つけ鴨、鴨ざる、マサラカレー、そして、ご飯もの、具増しがありました。また、麺は、そば、うどん、中華麺の3種類の選択肢があり、2種盛、3種盛も選択肢にあった。さらには、麺の量は、並、中、大、特大の選択肢があった。それらの組み合わせが表になっていて、色々な選択肢の組み合わせに番号が割り当てられており、その番号の食券を買う方法でした。
そんな中、私は「鴨ざる」と鴨肉2倍の食券を、相方は一番のおすすめの「つけ鴨 2種盛(そば・中華麺)」の食券を購入した。

“Shoga-Yu”(Ginger Soup) – 生姜湯

For Tsukekamo, a warm soup (ginger soup) was served after the meal to dilute and enjoy the leftover dipping sauce. (Not served for Kamozaru and Nanban)

つけ鴨には、食後の残りだし汁を割って味わうための、割り湯(生姜湯)が付いていた。(鴨ざる、南蛮には付かない)

My impression – 感想

I would say “overflowing with taste of duck”.

「鴨のテイストが溢れている」、というところでしょう。

Access – アクセス

To SHIMESOBAYA Banshu Yoshidaya, I set the navigation and went by car.
I went north on National Route 175 from the Takinoyashiro Interchange on the Chugoku Expressway, took the side road on the left just past the Itaba Bridge East intersection, turned left at the Nomura East intersection, and crossed the Nomura Ohashi Bridge. Immediately on the left side was the building of “SHIMESOBAYA Banshu Yoshidaya”. The restaurant’s parking lot was on the basement floor. I went down the slope past the parking lot entrance in front of the building and went to the basement floor. The entrance to the restaurant was at the back of the parking lot.

「〆そば屋 播州吉田屋」へは、ナビをセットして車で行きました。
中国自動車道滝野社インターチェンジから国道175号線を北上し、板波橋東詰の交差点を過ぎたところにある左の側道に入り、野村東の交差点を左折して野村大橋を渡ると、直ぐ左側に「〆そば屋 播州吉田屋」の建物がありました。お店の駐車場は、地下階にありました。建物前の駐車場の入口を通り過ぎたところにある下り坂を降りて地下階へ行きました。お店の入口は駐車場の奥でした。
